Indeed it has been ages.  I kind of abandoned the tables I had adopted for awhile in a bout with depression and anxiety-related writer's block and a computer that liked freezing every time Microsoft Word would do a quick save.

But, I've been working on one of them; from the [info]occhallenge livejournal page, a table I adopted to help develop my One Piece OCs a bit more.  Well, in all fairness, I've developed them beyond the point of normalcy, but I needed the practice writing them as well.  I was intending for it to be a series of nothing but oneshots, but I decided to pick up from where I left off; the entire table might not be dedicated to a linear storyline, but there will be mini two- to five-shots among it.  So, without further ado, here is the second prompt-inspired writing!

Rated: PG
Warnings: Nothing terrible in this one.  I don't think there's even any swearing; maybe one or two instances, but almost definitely nothing serious.
Summary: After a less than eventful day, in which the biggest stir were a couple of rookie pirates causing the slightest bit of mischief, the Morstein Tavern finds that they've come up more than half their earnings short for the day.
Disclaimer: The only characters I own mentioned here are Sedna, her and Benn's parents, Lyon, and perhaps Janx if his name was mentioned anywhere (though I don't believe it was); the settings I own here are limited to the island, the town of Evergreen, and the tavern.  Everything else belongs to the One Piece universe and is copyright to its respective owners.
A/N:  Not much to say here.  This is part two of my previous post for this table from just over a year ago.  I hope to be working on it more regularly now that I have a computer that seems to function like...well, like a computer.  Though I should add, the currency here is of similar measure to Japanese Yen; that is, a thousand beli would be equivalent to about ten dollars US money.

Spare Change

Title: Spare Change
Genre: Horror... or something of the like.
Setting: Current day, unspecified suburban area somewhere in Florida
Rating: PG-13/T... or something of the like.
Summary: Old Mrs. Mason didn't hire a window washer, but this strange boy isn't leaving without his pay.  Another one for a contest on my forum site.  The challenge was to take the sentence "Without warning a window washer arrives, from nowhere," and use it to start a short story of 1,000 words or less.  This being me, it became horror...ish.  I'm still not even sure exactly what to consider this.

Title: Sugar Cubes

Summary: L inadvertently causes a shortage in his sugar supply by introducing a rather curious (albeit skeptical) Matsuda to the wonders of sugar cubes.
Disclaimer: I don't own Death Note or any of its characters.  I just adore them and find the work of Tsugumi Ohba as a writer to be quite inspiring.
Notes:

Sugar Cubes series overview: This collection of minifics for Fanfic50 is one I'm calling Sugar Cubes.  All of them are L-centric (as he is my character claim), and many of them will also somehow involve the general subject of sugar cubes, and most of them will be just plain goofy.  The lighter side of the Kira investigation, I suppose.  Also, just as an added challenge to myself, each story is 500 words long.  Not one word more or less.  Yep.  I decided to take my challenge and make it more challenging.  No one ever accused me of being particularly sane, after all.

Warnings: Just mild swearing.  I just figured I'd rate it PG-13 to be safe.
Summary: Left with the problem of a boat with a hole in its side in the subzero waters surrounding an icecap of an island, Lyon is skeptical that he and Shanks are even going to make it to their first destination as independent pirates.
Disclaimer: I don't own Shanks, nor do I own Buggy or One Piece itself; I do, however, own Lyon, and I also own the mentioned character Janx.
A/N:  This is basically the first chapter of a three-or-four chapter mini-fic that I'll be writing within prompt table 3, I think.  It'll jump around a lot, since not everything is going to be in perfect chronological order.  It's more or less going to all be oneshots and mini-fics.  That's all ^_^

Setting: Late 1991, rural town in the Catskill Mountains in New York
Rating: PG?  Nothing explicit at all, so something like that.
Summary: Six-year-old Jamie Farren is a good boy.  He makes good grades in school, he cleans his plate at every meal, and he goes to bed when he's told to.  Nothing, however, interferes with Jamie's fixation with his action figures.  When he leaves a few new ones out in the car, not even bed time and getting in trouble can get in the way of his sneaking outside to go and get them... but this late-night trip out to the car leaves Jamie a little more than he bargained for: a new-found fear of what lurks in the darkness.

The King's Note: Chapter 1

Spoilers: Just about everything from the first arc.
Summary: A few years after picking up the Shinigami King's death note, which allows its user to see all Shinigami and not only take lives (adding one year to the user's life for each death) but also save them (each at the price of one year subtracted from the user's life), Katherine Lynton, an aspiring con artist in Ireland, is sure she knows how Kira is killing off criminals; he has his own Death Note. Upon convincing her lifelong friends (and fellow criminals) Al, Pat, and Don to come with her, unbeknownst to the fact that she possesses a Death Note herself, the four head to Japan, rent a house in the suburbs of Tokyo under false identities, and begin tracking down both Kira and the great detective L at the head of the Kira case, as they search for a way to put a stop to Kira before he can put a stop to them.
